Mississippi Education Collective

Scholarship Granting Organization

Coming January 2027

Your Taxes.
Mississippi Students.

The Mississippi Education Collective helps families access Christ‑centered education through scholarships that change lives across Mississippi. Together, we are creating opportunity for every child.

Keep your tax dollars working in Mississippi.

Beginning in 2027, a new federal tax credit gives eligible taxpayers the opportunity to direct up to $1,700 toward scholarships for students rather than federal income taxes.

At MSEC, we believe as much of that support as possible should reach students. While scholarship organizations are required to direct at least 90% of contributions to scholarships, our goal is to go further by keeping overhead low and putting more dollars toward educational opportunities for Mississippi students.

MSEC handles the process from start to finish, verifying student eligibility and sending scholarship funds directly to participating schools.

The process

How a gift becomes a scholarship.

  1. 1

    Redirect your taxes

Give to MSEC and redirect up to $1,700 of your eligible federal tax dollars each year instead of sending them to Washington.

  2. 2

    MSEC verifies eligibility

MSEC confirms each student meets the income‑based eligibility rules set by federal law before any funds move.

  3. 3

    Funds reach the school

MSEC pays the scholarship directly to the school each semester.

What happens between now and January

We're building the bridge.

  1. Now – December

MSEC finalizes its scholarship guidelines and onboards each partner school's development team. No donations are being accepted yet.

  2. January 2027

Giving opens. Donors can redirect eligible federal tax liability to MSEC and receive an official receipt for the credit.

  3. Ongoing

MSEC verifies student eligibility and pays scholarships directly to the school every semester, for every student who qualifies.
